(Images and video by Real Madrid) Rafael Nadal joined some of Real Madrid's stars for the official presentation of Foundation's charity act "Alma Nadal" to be held in the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid on July 14. Rafa and Novak Djokovic will play a tennis match in the football field and hope to break the record of public attendance at a tennis event. The initiative will raise money for the Rafa Nadal Foundation and also for Real Madrid Foundation.
Rafael Nadal and Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, presented the charity match, in an act also attended by coachs José Mourinho and Karanka and players Xabi Alonso and Granero.
A confessed madridista, the world nº 2 tennis-player said it is a honor to play at a stadium that means so much to him. "It is one of the most beautiful stadiums there are and I want to thank Real Madrid for making this a reality. The 14th of July will be an unforgettable day and I wish to thank Novak [Djokovic] for his amazing gesture. He is the number one player in the world and he'll be there", stated Nadal at the act.
Xabi Alonso, who got to hit some volleys in Bernabeu, said "the players, the venue and the cause will make of this a spectacular event". And sent a message to the fans: "We hope supporters pack the stadium for a good cause. It will take place on a summer Saturday, so more people will be able to come. Sport spectacle will take place in order to help those who need it. The Real Madrid and Rafa Nadal foundations are carrying out great projects that truly help."
